Hired a great Scott road bike for a week in Tuscany and also enjoyed a wonderful ~90km ride guided by Gabriele. The bike was dropped to and picked up from our villa in Ambra. We had such a great day exploring the Tuscan hills with a fun and challenging ride from Gabriele at Pedalitaly. Everything was so well organized, and Gabrielle reviewed the route and mileage with us ahead of time so that we would know what to expect. He took us along such a beautiful path that we never would have been able to find ourselves. The experience setting up the ride was very smooth and professional, and I would highly recommend booking a guided bike tour with Pedalitaly. Hired a bike via CiclismoPlus, the parent company, and hired a 4hr Tour. It was perfect! I train regularly, and typically look to get in around 40-60 miles (70-100k) and we covered that and 3k feet (1000m) in climbing in a relaxed, cafe pace ride.I was based in Firenze, and we rode a nice loop down to Greve in Chianti. Stopped for espresso and snacks, and back to town. Gabriele is easy to speak with, speaks good English, for those of us that are poor at Italiano!Truly appreciated the camaraderie and the introduction to cycling in Italy! One of the best experiences of our trip to Italy. The 1/2 day tour was perfect, especially on a hot day. We rode 46.5 miles (75 km) and about 2,960 ft (900 m) of elevation through the Chianti region. Gabriele was friendly, accommodating and was an amazing riding partner. If you’re a cyclist and in Italy, I would definitely book a ride with Pedalitaly. You won’t regret it.

Here is my review for June 10, 2024First off I want to thank Max for coordinating my private tour in Florence. He was very cordial kind and straight up what to expect in my ride.Now to the ride, Gabriele was amazing, having your own guide is so worthwhile of a region I have no knowledge about. He showed me the Tuscany and Chianti regions that totally blew me away and if you have the chance to ever ride with Gabriele, I highly recommend it.If I ever come back to Italy, I will definitely hire this company once again for my guided tour. I booked a tour in Florence with Max/Gabriele and everything about the experience was perfect. I told Max I wanted to ride gravel and Grabriele and Lorenzo took me around every inch of gravel they could find around Florence. The views were impeccable and my guides were phenomenal hosts. Would 1,000% recommend anyone book a tour. And, you get to ride some fun 3T bikes if you didn’t bring your own.

On a recent visit to Tuscany I had the pleasure of staying in Lucca for a couple days, one of which was spent on a bike riding the nearby hills. Gabriele was an excellent tour guide and Max covered every detail, making the set up seamless. I only wish I was in Lucca longer I would have ridden more! Couldn’t ask for a better experience…I’m looking forward to a return trip!

So I was promised an ‘epic’ holiday.My worry leading up to the holiday, was my realisation that my six companions were keen, regular cyclists and I had barely been on my bike over the past year.To take my mind off things, our hosts took us to our accommodation. Our apartments were simply spectacular and the location right on one of the main squares of Lucca. Equally the staff were very accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was immense too.And so the cycling started. The equipment was of a very high standard and well maintained. Again Gabri and Max set everything up for us meticulously, and we set off each day on challenging, scenic and often spectacular routes around Lucca, on each of our six days.My fears of not keeping up with my finely tuned companions dissipated as the great choice of restaurants and fine wines began to take hold. I like to think I got faster, but perhaps they got lethargic and slower on the fine food? Daily our hosts; Gabri, Max and Francesca guided us, supported us, fed us and joked with us, and finally leaving us more as friends than clients and host.I had my ‘EPIC’ holiday and hope to return soon!

Rented a Canyon bike and had a tour of Lucca and the surrounding hills. It was a really fantastic time – great company, great bike, great route. My first time cycling in Italy, and it was dreamy.They were also amazingly flexible with the tour and bike rental. We were hit by some very bad weather, and they rearranged the whole thing without question to a suitable date.So, all in all, a fantastic experience. Many thanks to them for the experience.

You quickly gauged the dynamics of our group and amended the days accordingly (mainly for amazing coffee, lunch, snack and swimming stops!). And the choice of accommodation and evening restaurants in Lucca was outstanding. Both of you and Francesca made us feel so welcome and you always went the extra mile. We have had the most fantastic October cycling trip in Tuscany, with Gabriele, Max and Francesca. Thank you all.Everything was tailored to perfection; from the airport transfers, bike fit, selection of hotel (we must have had the best hotel in Lucca !),daily guiding on a variety of magical routes, stops for coffee/lunch/gelato to the evening restaurants….. it was simply 10/10, with so much fun and laughter.At all times the attention to detail, professionalism, passion, energy and joyful enthusiasm from the Pedalitaly team was outstanding and gave us an overall experience far beyond our expectations. I cannot imagine returning to cycle in Tuscany with any other tour group.

My tour with Pedalitaly to the Apuan Alps was the highlight of our visit to Lucca. After a poor decision to leave the car at the top of a hill, we set off on a nice easy roll along the seashore and past the posh shops and cafes of Forte Dei Marmi to warm up. Soon enough we started climbing into the white mountains above Carrara with spectacular views of the Apuan Alps and the quarries that once supplied Michelangelo. My guide, Gabrielle made me feel like we were old friends, and was an absolute pro shepherding me over the climbs and safely down the incredible descents. I only regret that I didn’t have more time to ride with him.The Canyon Ultimate I rented was in perfect condition and a joy to ride. Max and Gabri were fantastic hosts, the entire experience was top-notch! I would highly recommend their service whether for rentals or guided tours. I can’t wait to ride with them again.

I hired a bike for three days during my trip to Tuscany. Max was really helpful with organising everything pre-trip and making sure the bike was the correct size. The bike itself (Canyon Ultimate) was great.I also did a half day ride – which I’d highly recommend. Gabriele was a brilliant guide for our route around the hills of Lucca – smooth, quiet roads, lovely scenery and a nice coffee – all in all a really enjoyable ride.Unfortunately I couldn’t make the ride they were running the following day to the Alpaun Alps – but I will be back!Grazie mille Max and Gabriele!

Simply put, the best bike trip riding experience in Italy. Spearheaded by Gabri and Max, they take you through the beauties of the Italian terrain with rides through the mountains, hidden neighborhoods and lush scenery. Fantastic service from when we reached out to set up the tour to when we completed the 2 day cycling tours. Max was very responsive regarding the scheduling and also very clear. Our guide Francesco was excellent. He really knew his roads and gave us an incredible tour of Firenze and Sienna for 2 days. He knows all the hidden roads! We did about 150km of riding in two days and Francesco was very attentive when to stop for a break and when to push the intensity. We really enjoyed it. Highly recommend them irrespective of your cycling level.

We had a half day tour with guide Craig, who took us on some beautiful climbs, through forests, vineyards, and small villages, on mostly low-trafficked, small roads. Also rode along the walls of Lucca and Craig shared some local knowledge. We rented our clean, well-maintained, Canyon bikes with Pedalitaly/CiclismoPlus also, and Max was great about doing some fit tweaks for me. The personal attention and care we were given was very appreciated! We had such a great time. The only thing we would do differently next time would be to stay and do a longer tour!

They supplied a top notch Canyon Endurace bike that was already perfectly fitted when I got there, as they emailed us for measurements on our home bicycles.Gabriele, our bicycle tour guide and leader, was great company, and very knowledgeable and helpful, and took us on beautiful routes (with stops for cappuccino and pastries) over the course of two days, that were geared to our cycling levels.I would highly recommend this company.
